R.I.T.E.
R.I.T.E. stands for “Reformed International Theological Education,” which is the missions sending agency that runs the International Reformed Seminary of Donetsk, Ukraine. Currently, I serve as an adjunct professor of theology for this seminary, normally traveling to Ukraine for 1-2 weeks each summer to teach in the Bachelor’s Degree program. Professors are required to pay their own travel expenses to and from Donetsk, so please pray for God’s provision as travel to eastern-Europe is getting more and more expensive every year. While there, I lecture for an average of about 32 hours per week, essentially the equivalent of a 2 credit condensed course in the States. The students are hungry and interested to learn; it has been a joy for me to make the trip and to instruct them.
The past two trips that I have taken, I have been asked to teach a course that serves to present a unified view of Reformed Theology, not only in its development from scripture but also in its application to life and ministry. The purpose of the course is to take students who have had bits and pieces of reformed instruction and to help them wrap the many parts into a consistent whole. This year I have been asked to teach a course on Symbolics, a study of Creeds and Confessions.
