The C.S. Lewis Lectures
Several people have asked whether or not some of my lectures on C.S. Lewis are available for download. These are a series of six lectures presented at Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Milton, Florida while I served as their pastor. The seminar was entitled: “Into the Wardrobe” and was designed to be a brief introduction to the life and thought of Lewis. Over time, I will also include PDF downloads on Lewis that I have put together for teaching purposes over the years.
The Life of Lewis, part 1 (2/23/11): 55 min

“Over time, I will also include PDF downloads ” … over how much time?
Soon, Linda, soon.
I ought to have the chance to get some of it up tomorrow, thanks for the reminder… By the way, I am putting together some online training materials on the Heidelberg Catechism; are you interested?
Blessings to you and your family,
win
Just listened to part one … found the story of Lewis’s conversion especially interesting.
Lewis’ life is fascinating to me and a wonderful story of redemption in the life of a person who was not pursuing or desiring it.
Wow … just listened to “themes…part 2″. I’m very glad you put these lectures online to share with more people that attended your series in person. On the other hand, I think you should repeat the series for the benefit of those in your new congregation who may not want (due to a lack of knowledge of the huge benefits that reading something like MERE CHRISTIANITY would have) or be able to catch them online. I can state for certain that many there would reply, “C. S. who???” Well, at least they would have pre-Narnia movies time; I know the movies have made his name much more recognizable to many.
Your referenct to Lewis’ “first things and second things” immediately brought to my mind the famous Jim Elliot quote that graces my computer desktop, ” He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
Thanks, Linda, I am glad you are enjoying them and I am wide open to doing some similar lectures up here. Chuck and I have been kicking about an idea for a kind of weekly “family night” at the church through at least a portion of the summer. Kind of a way to keep some of the Bible Club kids/families active and to give us a chance to offer some seminars that we would not ordinarily be able to do otherwise during the year. The idea is a ways from matriculation, but Lewis might be a good topic for something like that…although there is no news about the possibility of a next Narnia movie (which would be a good time to do that). Thanks too for the Elliot quote.
Blessings,
w
